1. Purpose
Devices sold through VistaLock merchant and dealer networks may include VistaProtect security software to support buy-now-pay-later and device-financing agreements. This Device Management Notice explains what that means for customers and forms part of the disclosures required under Nigerian consumer protection and data-protection law.
2. What Device Management May Include
These measures are designed to protect financiers and merchants while you complete repayment. They are not intended to access personal content unrelated to loan compliance.
- Preventing removal of the financing/security application while the loan is active
- Restricting device functions if repayments are overdue, as disclosed in your finance agreement
- Remote lock or wipe only in accordance with your signed terms, financier rules, and applicable law
- Collection of device identifiers (e.g. IMEI) and compliance status for fraud prevention and loan servicing
3. Consent & Your Agreement
Before completing a financed purchase, you will receive clear disclosure of device management terms in plain language, consistent with the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act (FCCPA) 2018 and your finance agreement.
By proceeding with financing and taking delivery of the device, you consent to the security measures described in your finance agreement and this notice. You may withdraw consent only where permitted by law and your contract (e.g. by repaying the loan in full).
When your loan is fully repaid, device restrictions are removed according to the financier and merchant process.
